Solarpyramide

Projectgoal: Motivation was to design a steady building built of construction wood, which allows to use daylight inside, produces electric energy by a 48V Glas-Glas PV-system, is orientated towards SO and SW for an equal power generation over the daylight time and offers different temperature ranges to plant various vegetables. Living, working and research activities in nature with rain-, wind- and temperature protection – a workshop within the nature. Based on the cooling system of a tippi, the gras cooled air enters at the bottom and exits at the top.

EcoGarten - Living and working under daylight conditions

Showcase: The inside temperature of the Ecogarden allows to plant vegetables in early spring time when the outside temperature might still be too cold. Very interesting for gardeners who like to plant their own vegetables. The semi-transparent PV-system provides also some sort of blinds which forms some kind of an all seasons room as part of the house. The building kit for an additonal adaption to an existing or new building has a size of 4 x 4m base area, a maximum height of 6m and consits of 28 rectangular panels and 8 triangle panels with a total peak power of 6.4kW. The main area should have a heading to south, has an angle of 56deg and provides 3.2kWp power. Both sides support either in morning or evening time. Because of sunheating inside the garden an automated air ventilation and shading is needed. In spring or autumn season the hot air can be used to heat the house.
